iEARN-USA, a founding member of the iEARN global consortium, coordinates the network’s online professional development courses, hosts a safe and secure online collaboration platform for student and teacher interaction, and provides developmental assistance to iEARN programs worldwide. iEARN now daily engages an estimated 2 million youth and educators in more than 40,000 schools in 130 countries in 30 languages.
iEARN-USA is a leader in initiatives such as "Connect All Schools," a consortium of more than 100 partners whose goal it is to connect every school in the US with the world by 2016, and “Exchange 2.0,” a campaign to blend new media technologies with proven processes and pedagogy for cross-cultural dialogue and education that teach critical skills for effective citizenship and leadership in the globalized 21st century.
iEARN-USA is the author of the US Department of Education’s Teacher’s Guide to International Collaboration on the Internet and is a founding partner of the US Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Program. iEARN was a 2004 Tech Museum Laureate, in the Education category. In 2010, iEARN was ranked the highest of projects highlighted by the K-12 Task Force for the US Summit and Initiative for Citizen Diplomacy.
